- For the 8th release on Sander’s LMR, Dutch DJ & Producer Rene Amasz provides us with two mixes of Back Into The Funk, a release that showcases what Rene is well known for in his home country.
On the a-side is the Original Mix, that for me doesn’t showcase the level of funk that you would expect with such a title. Rather the track is quite tribal in parts, with thick chunky beats as well as some stabbing synths sounds towards the middle parts. Quite a disappointing mix.
The Dub on the flip is marginally better I must say, with the thick baseline providing a good groove to the production, a groove that was rather lacking on the a-side. A nice eerie interlude deep into the track is also a welcome touch to this mix which is definitely the better of the two.
Not a bad release here by LMR, saved especially by the b-side which definitely brings this release ‘back into the funk’.
