  • A new set of artists make their way onto the Bedrock Roster, with the duo of Gaby Dershin & James Bem putting their names onto the next release as Astro & Glyde. The release is Aimless Dame and it is spread over two discs. This first disc features the smooth Original mix and also the devastating Randall Jones Dub. The Original Mix is first up and it arrives just in time for the US and UK summer. A smooth house production filled with a nice analogue hook that combines very smoothly with the vocals of Queen V as well as the stuttered beat patterns. As the track builds, the heat rises with some nice strings and good atmospheric touches. Solid! On the flip is the highlight for me, that being the Randall Jones Delayed Dub. What a hot production this is, and for me with no disrespect to the a-side, the main reason for this first disc. The drums are fantastic, the baseline is hot, and effects of the vocals as well as the original hook is suited beautifully to the already mentioned elements. It just works a little too nicely, and is a perfect summer antidote or a winter warmer. The arrangement is constantly interesting, with changes in its structure keeping the track fresh and full of good vibes throughout. I can’t stress how very nice the Randall Jones Dub mix is, and it just comes to show that he is indeed one of the hottest producers in the game right now. Ful of talent, it is his remix combined with the pretty solid a-side the make this the pick of the two discs of this release on Bedrock.
