- This collaboration between Skweee survivor Randy Barracuda and Fett Burger collaborator Stiletti-Ana features three versions of the same Italo-techno chugger. Each take on "Mlipuke" has its own charms, finding a different compromise between the two Finns' styles. But some things remain constant, namely a sub-100 BPM trudge and a grubby flamboyance that makes the music at home on reprobate label Rat Life.
On "Mlipuke II," Stiletti-Ana's cosmic side comes out: glittering arps trigger hypnotic cascades of delay, before whooshing off to let the beatdown percussion have its moment. "Mlipuke I" brings Randy Barracuda's synth-funk stylings into play, with a pungent bassline that wiggles itself into a bit of lurid melody towards the end. The third version is toned down for a loopier rendering—all three "Mlipuke"s are solid, but this one might be the best. They're all outshined, however, by a remix from electro master Clatterbox, who keeps the sultry tempo and ups the feeling of spacey drift, with throbbing low-end and some wistful midrange melody.
