First up is the X side. Starting with smooth broken beats, the track builds with nice melodic tones as well as smooth flowing atmospheric effects that set the nice melancholic mood of this production. The production in this release is quite stunning, with lovely melodies working in unison with solid beats as well as subtle baselines and swirling effects. This is sure to be a highlight of the forthcoming compilation.
The Y side is very solid from the outset. Chunky 4/4 beats combine with a driving baseline that keeps things shaking. Percussive effects combine in the loop, and as the track slowly builds, nice melodic effects come into the production. The track takes a quirky broken beat interlude midway in, and storms back into action with solid baseline note changes as well as an entourage of swirling melodies. Another very solid production.
A great release by Secret Planet that comes to show the abundance of talent in our musical world. Considering these two tracks are by up and coming talent, it is safe to say that good things are sure to come in the near future for Silver Planet.
