The End Of All Existence - Part III

  • Milton Bradley makes foreboding club music. Despite the stylistic differences across his different projects—Alien Rain, The End Of All Existence, Milton Bradley—at his best the effect is the same. Tragedy Of Truth, his debut Milton Bradley album, was like a soundtrack to a drug trip on the brink of turning sour. The End Of All Existence is the Berliner's infrequent side project. Entrenched in themes of apocalyptic devastation, the music is naturally as grim as it gets. You'd be forgiven for expecting lots of industrial noise, but Bradley uses hypnotic tones and ambient drones instead. It's all been exceptionally bleak, until now. Part III of the series begins with a surge of hope. "Choir Of Devastation" features celestial voices and a plodding tribal bassline, evoking Shackleton at his most trance-like. "Post Apocalyptic Being" introduces a broken beat swathed in howling atmospherics, a signature detail of the project. This sound becomes fuller on "Echoes Of The Nameless," as though it's trying to communicate in some alien language. As arguably the most intense of all his aliases, The End Of All Existence can leave you feeling a little drained. But in the right state of mind, it's a psychoactive journey everyone should try at least once.
