Parallel Sound – Stuck In My Head

  • Next up on Sinister Recordings is a release by Musa Hove and Tim Lloyd, under the guise of Parallel Sound. They team up to deliver Stuck In My Head, and are joined by Argentinean boys Big Head who turn in their remix on the flip. The Original Mix gets the ball rolling on the a-side, and I must say, that there is something about this production that grabs me by the balls and doesn’t let go. It’s quite minimal throughout, but there is a definite appeal in the production and conjunction of the sounds. The drums are quite solid, and the delicate percussion effects are brilliant. The baseline, although subtle, is quite addictive and the breaks in the production are quite soothing and not too disruptive. It seems that they really hit the nail on the head when they named this track. On the flip, Big Head give the track a bit more of a chunkier feel by adding a solid baseline and also incorporating an even more percussive feel then the original. Big Head recently won the ‘Best Tribal Dance’ award at the International Tribal convention (Yes it exists!!) and it is clear to see why after this remix. There are quite simply some delicate and lovely drum patterns in this mix, and it will really delight fans of solid tribal house music. For me the a-side shines very brightly in this release and perhaps not in the conventional ‘anthem’ type appeal. Sometimes less is more, and this release shows how sometimes a simple loop and a mixture of great sounds can really work to create a beautiful production. I really feel however that this review in particular might not sit well with many people that hear this production, so I do encourage you to check it out.
