- There's a simplicity and poise to Nicuri's music that makes it feel timeless. Orbital Chords' intoxicating blend of smoky synths and luxurious percussion stands apart from any particular sound or group of artists—though "Holding The Four Winds" might draw some comparisons to Detroit techno thanks to its sweeping synth lines that sound like screeching subway trains.
All three tracks on Orbital Chords move in the same way, elegantly drifting from point A to B. "Digital Crush"'s hypnotic percussion thumps like a basketball on a parquet floor, with an occasional double-time strike. The preceding track, "Holding The Four Winds," eases up on the smoggy atmosphere of "Digital Crush," but retains the meditative, locomotive chug that drives all three tracks on the EP. "Walking On The Boulevard" is, by a shade, the paciest track on Orbital Chords. That's mostly down to the hi-hats, which, along with the malleting kicks on "Walking On The Boulevard," chop quickly through the track's ambient pads.
