Christian Cambas - It Scares Me

  • Following the Morgan Page release on Bedrock, the label shows its diversity by doing things a little different yet again, this time with the release of the vocal stylings of It Scares Me by Christian Cambas. Smooth effects ride behind a strong kick early on in the Original Mix. Soon enough we are introduced to the early stages of the main melody as well as a nice stabbing sound effect that builds the track. It flows and flows, with the help of subtle base stabs, until it breaks down midway and introduces an 80’s synth pop melody riding a great breakbeat pattern. The main vocal is reminiscent of Dave Gahan in his early days as the breakdown soon comes to an end and softens out before the main melodies and vocal soon make a re-appearance to take the track out in great style. Ali Ajami & Chris Micali take on remix duties on the flip and give the beats a lot of substance in the early moments, also using subtle vocal effects to good use. The main melody slowly builds its way into the production as does the vocal that rides the track with effected moments. Micali and Ajami also use a great breakbeat interlude that leads into the breakdown where the main melody really works well with the filtered vocals. The beats come in again taking this great remix to peak time heaven. Great, great remix here. It is very hard not to like this release by Bedrock. Not what you expect from the Bedrock sound, but more stuff like this is more then welcome. The original is great but the Micali and Ajami remix is fantastic. Check this out at all costs.
