- Stumbled upon Metta & JT Love (Kevin Cooke & John Travers)'s production a while back ('4 Day Shuffle' on HDS, which was later licensed to Craig Richards & Lee Burridge's Tyrant 2 Compilation) and has since been hooked on their work. Their crisp production and bouncy bass-lines never fails to get dance-floor yearning for more. The 3-track 'A-friad' Ep marks the first release of their new label, Flip-Flop. On the A side, 'A-friad' is a driving tech-house number with snippets vocals samples repeating over it. Very funky & effective. On the flip, features my favourite piece, 'Bastardo'. Crazy samples & sweeping sounds are found in here, all programmed & executed perfectly, not forgetting the incredibly infectious bass-line. Tops!
'Shakedown' takes on a more housey feel yet still maintains the overall funk. Keep a lookout for these guys as well as the label. I foresee good releases in the near future.
