Broken In Two EP [Drop Music]

  • Deep House label Drop Music return to the forefront with their latest release, the Broken In Two EP by Muzik and the Littlemen. Headed by the Inland Knights, this UK label has developed a hugh standard with the 20 odd releases it has churned out. This release looks to be no different. On the a-side is the interestingly titled ’Takka Takka’. This is some solid chunky house. Some nicely developed percussion meets a nicely crafted baseline to open this track. A rolling piano line also features throughout as do some twisted effects and soothing vocals. A very nice production that chugs along smoothly and would work perfectly midway into a set or so. On the flip is firstly ’Berlin’. Smooth as well and features a deep housey baseline to keep things rolling. Works its way with a funky edge helped by the sounds and looped vocal deep into the track. A bit repetitious but interesting nonetheless. Secondly on the b-side is ’On Time’. Another funky route taken this time through the help of the baseline and the guitar like effects throughout. Clear to see the sounds and the baseline work very well together and they give the production a nice solid flow. The vocal deep into the track give it a distinctive house sound, and might not be welcomed by some. Good work yet again. Quality House from a quality label. Drop yet again deliver the goods, with three quality deep house cuts. Be sure to check this out.
