- Croatia's Burek label launched early in 2011 with a single from the Bulgarian deep house producer KiNK (who delivered to the fledgling label one of his finest tracks to date). For 002, they turn to Humandrone, a Japanese producer with credits on We Play House, Lost My Dog and Snuff Traxx, among others.
"Stay Raw With Us" doesn't grab you by the collar the way KiNK's "Leko" does—it's darker and more modest. If "Leko" has the serotonin firing on all cylinders, "Stay Raw with Us" dips into a kind of blissful fatigue, caressed with layered vocal phrases and sweet, descending chords. It's still a tough little jam, with crisp 909s and a bubbly bassline that hits you right in the gut, but its emotional register isn't so much "raw" as deeply at ease, almost post-coital in its relaxed glow.
"Cold Love Crush" and "Flash Jive" are both skippy, analog-intensive jams, with Roland drum machines and acid bass both set to precarious degrees of swing. They're fine tracks, with verve and character, but they don't come close to the easy intensity of "Stay Raw with Us."
