About

  • Based in Miami, Florida, Imbue consists of Maximiliano Cortes, Ignacio Vallejo and Eduardo J. Alvarez. Since forming in 2016, the trio has crafted a unique interpretation of minimal electronic music, blending influences ranging from house, psychedelic rock and breaks. Imbue launched their self titled label in 2017 with their vinyl-only debut “Imbue” [IMB001]. They returned to vinyl after releasing “Abstractions” [IMB002] digitally, and these subsequent EP’s — “Of Time and Actuality” [IMB003] and “Within the Gaze” [IMB004] — reached #1 on the Decks.de and Deejay.de charts, and were repressed after quickly selling out. The success of these records, along with the release of “V” [IMB005] in early 2020, helped them land features on the labels Retrospect [RETRO003], Telum [TELUM006], and SISU [SISU01 & SISU02] amongst others from 2020-2022. They capped 2021 off with perhaps their most ambitious, multi-genre record to date: “Bloom” [IMB006]. 2022 marked both an increase in bookings and a shift in production, as the trio opted for a faster, modern house sound with purely digital distribution. This effort culminated in the debut of their IMBX series with IMBX001 in October 2022. Imbue’s live performance features a hybrid of live electric guitar and synthesizers superimposed over a continuous and multifaceted DJ set. They have headlined shows in Miami, Atlanta, and the Dominican Republic and opened for the likes of Raresh, Prâslea, Traumer, Gene on Earth, Shonky, SIT and more, both in Miami and in Berlin’s Club der Visionaere.
