It was at the tender age of 5, Trigga started his journey as a performer. Encouraged by his older brothers who were MCís for local sound systems and pirate stations to pick up a microphone, he would imitate them and this early start 2 and a half decades ago were the foundations for this veteran MCís fledgling career.
10 years later and not even old enough to even attend a rave… Trigga was holding down a residency for the legendary Dark House club. He was given the opportunity by a local promoter who had heard Trigga on a pirate station and before long was homing his skills alongside artists such as Bryan Gee, Jumping Jack Frost, Mampi Swift, Roni Size, Donovan Bad Boy Smith, Dynamite MC & DJ Ron. It was also here that Trigga met Bassman & Spyda and the three of them formed the Shadow Demon Coalition.
It was not long before Trigga was given a residency for the legendary promotion Hysteria and then Pure X. His performances with the Shadow Demon crew started to gain popularity as the tape packs from the events were being heard up and down the country.. these performances led to bookings for the biggest DnB event at the time… Telepathy.
It was not long before he was handed a residency at Telepathy and the bookings started to take off…. audiences up and down the country responded positively to his performances on stage and it was not long before he was getting booked for even more events off the back of the buzz he had created for himself and cemented himself as one of the top DnB MCís in the game… turning in performances week in week out at the top events alongside the very best DnB performers and securing bookings in Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Amsterdam, Portugal and Canada.
The events he has performed at are like a whoís who of the Drum and Bass scene… Hysteria, Telepathy, Pure X, Innovation, Global Gathering, Random Concept, Breakin Science, Desire, Muzik Hertz, Raveology, Innovation in the Sun.
Triggaís status began to grow outside of the DnB scene and in 2008, he made the transition from ìMCî to ìArtistî after collaborations with Skepta from Boy Better Know on Inna Corner which was an underground smash hit. He also masterminded and released a mix tape with his music partner David Dawood entitled ìMade in Manchesterî which was a collection of hip hop tunes made up completely of local talent.
Mid 2009 saw Trigga lay the foundation for a solo album… he decided to pull together talents from different scenes to try and create something special… that would not only unify scenes but give something back to all of the followers as well as showcase his talents and prove that he was not only adaptable enough to flow over different styles but also had the talent to shine on them. The album is featuring Bassman, Nutcracka, Shabba D, Shaydee, Wiley, Skepta, Giggz and JME…. Entitled ìTrigganometryî the album is scheduled for release around 2012 and tracks have already received support from Tim Westwood and plays on BBC 1Xtra.
