  • The January edition of The Hour begins with a new feature called Behind The Track, in which an artist discusses the creation of a classic. To get us started, you'll hear how Ben Klock made "Subzero," a bold techno track from 2009 that captures the sound and spirit of Berghain, the club where's he's been a resident DJ for the past 12 years. For the following feature [06:33], we recommend browsing this photo gallery while you listen to Aaron Coultate meet with the guys from LWE for a tour of Printworks, a breathtaking new venue in London's Docklands area that opens on February 4th. And to end the show [27:28], Mark Smith invited Peter Kirn, editor of Create Digital Music, and the DJ and producer Dinky over to our Berlin office to discuss the recent new versions of iconic gear from Technics and Roland. The SL-1200 turntable, TB-303 bass synth, and TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines were vital to creation of dance music. How will these new products affect their legacy? Producer / Martha Pazienti Caidan
