Italian synth duo The Diaphanoids will release their debut full-length Astral Weekends in September.
As members of the Bear Entertainment family of cosmic disco merchants, the duo of Andrea Bellentani and Simon Maccari have stood out from the rest of the label primarily because of their heavy interest in vintage synthesizers. In a brief interview with RA, Bellentani claimed that the group used more than 50 in the recording of the album and even had used one that had previously belonged to Klaus Schulze. Dreamy.
As a result, it's not hard to imagine that the record may resemble their previous single for the label, in which the two melded what the label called "lunar funkadelia + spaced-out disco + astro rock + galactic soul + confuzed boogie + congotronics + krautgrooves + seventies' soundtracks." We're hoping that's all in one song, of course, but we'll take what we can get.
