  • The late cellist, avant-garde adventurer and disco pioneer Arthur Russell is the subject of a forthcoming documentary, directed by Matt Wolf. Wild Combination: A Portrait of Arthur Russell combines archive footage with testimonials from friends, family, associates and admirers to examine the life of the producer behind such glorious, left-of-centre classics as 'Springfield' (recently remixed by DFA) and Loose Joints' 'Is It All Over My Face'. Russell died of AIDS on April 4, 1992, at the age of 40. The film will make its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in early February.
