Latest mix on Renaissance is a double CD mixed by Steve Lawler inspired by his Viva nights in London. 'Viva London' arrives in November.
Lawler has been putting on his Viva (formerly Harlem) parties at The End for over six years now. The residency gives the Birmingham DJ a chance to regularly spin five or six hour sets in the capital and has also spawned spin-off nights in Toronto and Los Angeles.
'Viva London' is the first of several mixes that will give a retrospective look at the residency. The double CD includes cuts that have been tried and tested on Viva audiences from Dubfire, Adam Beyer, David K, Onur Özer and REshuffle. "Rather than going down the route of hunting out the newest tracks out there, I've put together a mix of records that have all been aired at Viva Harlem Nights at The End in London, which is what this album series is about," explains Lawler. "The CD truly resembles the night itself; it starts off with deep and warm house and builds its way through different genres while always keeping the same flavour before ending up quite tough."
