  • The work of Phil Moffa, a New York audio engineer, music educator, production studio owner and artist, is being celebrated on Love Injection. The Brooklyn-based label is putting out four remixes of Moffa's older material in a new EP called Second Foundation, out June 9th. These reinterpretations have been done by former and current students of his production classes at SUNY Purchase and Brooklyn College, including AceMo and Photay. Their renditions cover tracks from Moffa's 2014 EP, Elevation, and his 2016 Rare Forms EP, both of which will soon be reissued by Love Injection. In addition to teaching and making music, Moffa is an in-demand mixing and mastering engineer for the likes of Seth Troxler, Anthony Parasole and The Martinez Brothers. He also runs Butcha Sound Studios, a recording and production space known for its collection of vintage audio equipment. For more on his technical skills, revisit RA's 2017 feature. To learn about the creative process behind the project, watch the following mini-documentary shot by New York-based filmmaker Filipe Zapelini.
