Intimate Athens venue Astron Bar will close its doors this Sunday, May 28th.
Speaking to Resident Advisor, co-owner Kerasiotis Konstantinos cited a "lack of cooperation from the landlord" as the reason behind the closure. In a statement on Facebook, the venue described the landlord as "hungry for money with all the investment that is taking place in the area (Airbnb / rooms / hotels etc)."
Sunday's closing party will feature both indoor and outdoor stages and a raft of TBA guests. Konstantinos also told RA that the team will look for a new space to continue the venue's legacy.
Situated in central Athens, Astron Bar launched 16 years ago as a space for electronic music. The 60-capacity club has hosted everyone from Helena Hauff, Woody92 and JASSS to Beau Wanzer and DJ Bone.
