- Synergy is out on June 2nd.
Black Artist Database (B.A.D.) has launched a record label with a VA compilation.
Out on June 2nd, Synergy includes tracks from Amaliah, rRoxymore, Lyric Hood, DJ Holographic and B.A.D. cofounder NIKS.
The label will "spotlight Black artists from all over the world, both established and newcomers," NIKS and fellow cofounder Tanya Akinola told Resident Advisor. "And will serve as a home for archival releases and reissues."
They added: "These are all artists that have in some form been part of our journey, inspired us or represent to us what the future of electronic music looks like."
Initially called Black Bandcamp, B.A.D. launched in the aftermath of the Black Lives Matter uprisings in 2020. The platform has become the go-to grassroots source for Black underground music, boasting thousands of profiles of Black artists.
