  • Paris's legendary Rex Club is closing this summer to undergo renovations. According to Rex's communication and relations manager, Victorien Jacquemond, the bar, bathrooms and dance floor are all being revamped. They'll remain in the same place due to the building's historic status, though the current booth will be dismantled to be able to adapt the space depending on capacity. Rex will also install a new lighting rig, provided by Matière Noire, and keep its current d&b audiotechnik sound system. Before the work begins in June, the club will operate as normal, with May slots for Mama Snake (5th), CC:DISCO (17th) and GiGi FM and John Talabot (19th). The final party is scheduled for the 27th with Raresh and Bass Culture boss D'Julz. Opened in 1988, Rex turns 35 this year. The team is celebrating with a 496-page book featuring archival images, original photos, flyers and more. Find out more via Instagram. Read Rex's statement on the refurb.
