  • Afrikan Sciences is raising funds to press his latest album on vinyl. His crowdfunding campaign, hosted on Bandcamp, is seeking $6,164 over the next five days. All proceeds will go towards creating 12-inch, double-vinyl versions of Parlor Music, a 13-track full-length released digitally in February. Recorded under the artist's given name, Eric Douglas Porter, the album expands on his signature style of experimental beats, jazz and abstract house. In an Instagram post, Porter said he was partly inspired by McCartney II, Paul McCartney’s 1980 album that was made at a home studio. "Parlor Music is a flashback to when music was made and enjoyed in the home," Porter said in the post. "A guitar or piano in the front parlor of homes, played from sheet music or made on the spot."
