  • A new Resident Advisor documentary exploring how Ukraine's once-thriving electronic scene has been affected by the Russian invasion will premiere in Berlin and London next month. Each screening is free to attend. You can RSVP for Berlin (April 5th) and London (April 11th). Co-produced by RA and TABOR, Ukraine: Nightlife in Resistance examines the topic through the lens of six unique stories, each one identifying how the scene changed overnight. Among the personalities featured are drag performer and bouncer Vlad Shast; electronic composer Heinali; DJ, promoter and bar owner Garik Pledov; and the teams behind venues Closer, Module and TU. Made possible through RA's partnership with Jägermeister, the premieres will take place at Berlin's Passage Kino on April 5th and London's Barbican Centre on April 11th. They'll feature live Q&A sessions with the film's protagonists, moderated by RA editors Chloe Lula and Carlos Hawthorn respectively. The film will also be screened in Kyiv at a later date. Ahead of the film's release, RA is hosting a Ukraine fundraiser at London club fabric this Thursday, March 23rd. Like Thursday's party, the money raised from the premieres will be split between two charities: Insight NGO and World Central Kitchen. Find more information about the premieres in the flyers and event listings below.
Update, March 28th: This piece was updated to highlight that each screening is free to attend and open to all
