  • Korg has released a kit version of the ARP Odyssey. The synth is a full-sized, all-analogue recreation of ARP's most popular synth, which was produced between 1972 and 1981. The Odyssey FS Kit comes with all circuit boards already soldered but it needs to be assembled—though no technical knowledge is required. Fitted with an orange and black case, it's styled like the third and final generation of ARP Odyssey, but includes emulations of the filters from all three generations. Other updates include MIDI and USB MIDI compatibility, and an overdrive function. ARP went out of business in 1981. Korg acquired the rights to the brand a decade ago and has since released limited-edition recreations of several ARP synths. It has previously put out scaled down and full-sized versions of the ARP Odyssey, though these are all currently out of production. Watch an unboxing video of the Korg Odyssey FS Kit.
The ARP Odyssey Kit is available to pre-order now for £1,699 / $1,799 / €1,899.
