- The LP is out on March 17th through 2MR.
Kedr Livanskiy and Flaty are releasing a collaborative album as Kosaya Gora.
The new project—which means "oblique mountain" in Russian—signifies a musical shift for both artists. Out on March 17th via 2MR, Kosogor spans 14 tracks of folk, dream pop and melancholic synth music, accompanied by Livanskiy's hypnotic vocals.
The album was recorded in a mobile studio, which Livanskiy and Flaty took through villages in their native Russia. The first single, "Motorcyclists Die," features several lines from American poet J. Blake Gordon's poem so what. It landed last Friday, January 20th.
"The song is a reflection on the topic of death and the finiteness of earthly existence," Livanskiy said. "A walk along the dark road of the subconscious."
Kosogor sees Livanskiy returns to 2MR following 2021 album Liminal Soul. Fellow Muscovite Flaty is an experimental producer who has released on labels such as Soda Gong and ANWO Records.
