  • Martin Dupont have a new album on the way. Spanning seven tracks, Kintsugi contains lush reworks of the band's best-loved songs. The LP is out digitally via Minimal Wave on February 7th, on CD via Infrastition on February 14th and on vinyl and cassette via Meidosem Records on March 1st. (Minimal Wave are responsible for the vinyl distribution in the US.) It's the group's first new album since 1987. The announcement coincides with Martin Dupont's nine-date tour of Europe and the US, their first run of live shows since disbanding in 1987. It begins this Saturday, January 21st, at Espace Julien in their native Marseille. After flying under the radar for the best part of three decades, Martin Dupont found a new audience after a flurry of reissues on Minimal Wave, including a five-LP box set containing all of their recordings between 1980 and 1988. The band's music has been sampled by the likes of Kanye West (on Vibes, an album he produced for Theophilus London), Madlib and Tricky, and an extended version of their track "The Light Goes Through My Mouth" was released by Mick Wills in 2017. Listen to "Love Is On My Side."
