  • Venezuelan dance music veteran Dj Babatr is releasing his first EP on vinyl in March. Active since the '90s, Pedro Elías Corro is a DJ and producer from Catia, a neighbourhood of Caracas. Though he's released dozens of tracks digitally, The Tribe (Baila) is his first 12-inch. Produced between 2001 and 2005, the seven tracks define raptor house, a sound Corro pioneered. "For me, the EP is a tribute to those rebellious, marginalised young people from the west of Caracas," Corro said on Instagram. "My idea was to express my musical roots—acid house, New Beat, techno, house, makina etc.—from my perspective." The first release on new label ACA, The Tribe (Baila) features two collaborations with fellow raptor house artist DJ Lemad, plus a remix by Nick León, with whom Dj Babatr produced "Xtasis," Resident Advisor's track of the year in 2022.
