  • Audio brand AIAIAI has announced a new sustainability initiative, Remixed. Aimed at reducing electronic waste, the scheme allows customers to repair their used headphones or trade them in whole or as modular parts in return for store credit. New customers will have the option to buy repaired and repurposed products, professionally inspected by AIAIAI engineers. AIAIAI previously created the world's first modular headphones, the TMA-2, and Remixed reinforces a commitment to responsible product design. The firm also launched Future Of Sound, an initiative to support women, non-binary, gender non-conforming and trans producers, earlier this year. "We're excited to launch Remixed, our latest sustainability initiative, building on years of focus on responsible product design," said AIAIAI founder, Frederik Jorgensen. "With Remixed, we not only provide our customers with further options to extend the life of their modular headphones, we're also supporting sustainability and reducing e-waste." Electronic waste is one of the fastest-growing global waste streams. The UN estimates that 53.6 million tons were generated in 2019 alone. Find out more about Remixed.
