  • Glasgow has a new club. Located in the city centre on Sauchiehall Street, SYMBØL is a 250-capacity basement. Following a recent refurbishment, the club boasts a Funktion-One sound system and cutting-edge light installation. The launch party, taking place on December 26th, will include sets from venue owner and DJ Frazi.er, Slam, OUTFLIGHT and LUNARPLATZ. A techno event on the 28th features Somewhen, Aiden, E.DN, Sikoti, A-05 and TLO. "SYMBØL will be an important music hub for the fast-growing scene in Scotland," Frazi.er told Resident Advisor. "It's been a huge project for me to take on during a very busy time in my career, but it will be very rewarding. Sharing my experiences from clubs all over the world will hopefully make it valuable for the new generation." SYMBØL takes over the space formerly used by Blue Arrow Jazz Club. Blue Arrow closed in October, citing "increasingly hard" conditions. Find out more about SYMBØL.
