  • Copenhagen has a new club. Taking over the labyrinthine basement formerly used by Ved Siden Af, MODULE officially opened on Friday, December 2nd. It has three spaces: a kiosk, where people can buy shots, cigarettes and more, a lounge area and the main room. MODULE, which boasts a Funktion-One sound system and full LED lighting rig, was founded by Mai Schaarup of DJ collective HOUSEFRAU; Mikael Melander, AKA Baime; and William Hass, who used to run Kb18. "We all have big hearts and close relationships with the electronic scene and have worked with it for many years and had countless DJ jobs ourselves," the founders told Resident Advisor. "With this club, we can now focus on creating a space where we can nerd out to the music and give people a unique, safe experience every weekend." MODULE has announced several events across the remainder of the year. Browse the listings below. The team behind Ved Siden Af, which launched in 2018, announced the closure at the same time as hinting at a new venue. A few weeks later, Den Anden Side opened in the basement of Palads Teatret, an art-deco cinema located on Axeltorv. Correction, December 7th: A previous version of this article incorrectly said Baime was a DJ duo. It used to be, but today it's just Mikael Melander.
