  • New York's Bossa Nova Civic Club has made it to ten years. The anniversary celebrations will take place this Friday, December 9th, with a party called 10 Years of Agony & Ecstasy. The currently undisclosed lineup will feature "eight world-class DJs," according to the event description. "It's been a very rough decade for us," club owner John Barclay told RA. "We've dealt with fires, floods, DJs, plagues, psychos, the NYC Cabaret Law and MARCH Task Force and relentless harassment via several city and state agencies," he says. "We're exhausted but we're still as proud as ever to remain NYC's hottest dance club." He added: "I'm expecting [Friday] night to be a complete clusterfuck, hopefully with some positive elements." 10 Years Of Agony & Ecstasy will take place from 8 PM through 4 AM.
