  • Sydney venue The Abercrombie is reopening this month. Closed since 2014, the venue has been a staple of Sydney nightlife throughout its on-and-off history. Now Solotel is reopening it as a three-part destination that includes the main club, equipped with a Funktion-One sound system, a wine bar and shop called Lil Sis, and an upstairs cocktail lounge called Casa Rosa. "There's a strong sense of responsibility reopening The Abercrombie given that formative memories of generations of Sydney partiers, including myself, were forged here," said Solotel CEO Elliot Solomon. Unusually for the city, The Abercrombie has a 24-hour license, and will launch with a 36-hour party on December 23rd featuring Ayebatonye, Andy Garvey, dameeeela, Mike Who and more. "For those of us who remember it, this announcement brings both nostalgia borne from its history, and excitement now as to its future," added Michael Rodrigues, the New South Wales government's 24-hour economy commissioner. The full lineup for the 36-hour reopening is in the event listing below.
