  • The three winners of Jägermeister and Tresor's #SAVETHENIGHT fund have been chosen. Launched in August, the fund pledged €50,000 for the best ideas on how to improve nightlife around the world. The winning projects, whittled down from 226 entries, will now become a reality in 2023. The first two are Club Sol, a solar-powered nightclub in London, and a prejudice-free space run by Berlin crew Queer Trans Libernation. Jägermeister and Tresor also decided to make additional funds available for a third idea by Nairobi-based graphic designer Rabudi West, who plans to reinvigorate nightlife in Kenya's rural areas by providing advanced training to committed participants. "An active, diverse and safe nightlife connects cultures and offers opportunities for people worldwide to realise themselves," said Jägermeister's Kai Dechsling. "By realising the three projects in Germany, the United Kingdom and Kenya, we're opening the door for young talents to completely new career perspectives and to develop themselves. The projects are a real enrichment for nightlife and a prime example of the transformation of the scene towards more inclusion and diversity." The winners were chosen by a six-strong panel of artists and nightlife experts: Sarah Farina, Darwin, Asia James, Tresor founder Dimitri Hegemann, deadHype founder Bernard Koomson and Berlin Clubcommission board member Lewamm Ghebremariam.
