  • West London arts space and experimental music hub HQI is offering a ten-month development programme for up to 15 local residents. Open now to 18-to-25-year-olds living in Hammersmith and Fulham, the initiative aims to give young artists the skills and experience needed to springboard into the creative industries. Sounds Like Hammersmith and Fulham is a collaboration between the Mayor of London's office and the local council. "We're determined to support young, aspiring and talented musicians across Hammersmith and Fulham as they develop their skills," said Councillor Trey Campbell-Simon, the borough's lead councillor for youth advancement. "Sounds Like Hammersmith and Fulham is helping us build strong local connections and empower the next generation of young, talented musicians." HQI will also run a series of public masterclasses, featuring the likes of Mykki Blanco, GAIKA and film composer Seb Gainsborough, AKA Vessel. The course will begin on November 2nd with a talk on "World Building" featuring Gainsborough, composer Rakhi Singh and Dr Cecilia Wee of the Royal College of Art.
