  • Resident Advisor has revealed the programme for its 21st birthday events in Manchester and New York. As confirmed last week, we'll be in Manchester on November 11th and 12th, before touching down Stateside on November 19th. We'll be hosting parties, talks, workshops and plenty more besides with the aim of celebrating 21 years of club culture. Both programmes will be split into day and night sections. Manchester opens at 4 PM GMT on Friday the 11th with a music journalism workshop hosted by RA's news editor, Carlos Hawthorn, and events writer, Katie Thomas. Find out more and sign up here. The action will then move to SOUP, where we'll bring our editorial output into the real world with a live Exchange with dubstep legend Mala, a live Art of Production with 808 State, a panel about Manchester nightlife and a Playing Favourites DJ set from Jon K. The lights will then go down as we throw a party until 6 AM with ZULI playing a debut back-to-back with LCY, Low Jack, Cooly G (who will go back-to-back with Scratchclart), Dis Fig, DJ Lycox and Theymie XX back-to-back Bella Lugosi. The following day will also open with a workshop (DJing for beginners, hosted by local DJs Yant and Aletha), before we head to The Loft for a day party featuring Binh, Radioactive Man (who will play live), Joe Delon, Gwenan, Eksish and Danielle, who will go back-to-back with Ryan Elliott. This will run from midday through 11 PM. Spread over one day, New York will follow a similar format. We'll head to Nowadays for the daytime portion, starting with another music journalism workshop followed by editorial-led talks featuring the likes of Aurora Halal (live Art Of DJing), Byrell The Great (live Exchange) and Justin Strauss & Vivian Host (Playing Favourites). Four New York party crews will also sit down to discuss DIY nightlife in the city. The party is scheduled at a different venue, Bogart House, from 10 PM through 5 AM. The lineup spans three back-to-backs: Ciel and DJ Voices, Mapamota and DJ Noir, and Titonton Duvante and DJ Wawa. Find the full programme via the event listings below. In addition, we're celebrating our anniversary with specially commissioned podcasts, Exchanges and a book of love letters to nightlife penned by musicians, artists, writers, promoters and more. Find out more in editor-in-chief Whitney Wei's Editor's Letter. Our first podcast, by Tama Sumo & Lakuti, went live this week, paying homage to Panorama Bar.
