  • Photay, AKA Evan Shornstein, and Carlos Niño have an album on the way. An Offering is a nine-track ambient album thematically centering water. The work of other musicians also appears on the nine-track record, which includes harpist Mikaela Davis, tenor saxophonist Randal Fisher, trombone player Nathaneal Ranson and vocalist Mia Doi Todd. This isn't the first time the two musicians have worked together. Carlos Niño, hailing from Los Angeles, and Shornstein, based in Woodstock, New York, met in 2016 at a Laraaji concert. Years later, Photay collaborated with Niño on Shornstein's 2020 LP Waking Hours. An Offering is available on vinyl, limited-edition cassette and as digital release via International Anthem on October 14th. Photay is a producer known for merging chamber-pop with leftfield electronica. His last solo album, Waking Hours was put out through Mexican Summer in 2020. Carlos Niño is a percussionist and producer revered for his role in founding LA's Dublab radio station, as well as his collaborative, and often spiritual projects, with the likes of Kamasi Washington, Laraaji and new age legend lasos.
