Spotify appears to be entering the ticketing business.
On Wednesday, August 10th, the streaming giant launched a website for fans to buy tickets to Spotify artists’ upcoming concerts. Currently, seven shows are listed on the site, including one for TOKiMONSTA.
According to MusicAlly, the site is still in a pilot phase. The venture is Spotify's "latest test," a spokesperson told MusicAlly. "At Spotify, we routinely test new products and ideas to improve our user experience," they said. "Some of those end up paving the path for our broader user experience and others serve only as important learnings."
In 2020, Resident Advisor announced a partnership with Spotify to help fans discover ticketed RA events directly through the Spotify app.
