A new documentary about amapiano is streaming now on BBC iPlayer.
Presented by BBC Radio 1Xtra, This Is Amapiano charts the genre's rise from the streets of South Africa to clubs and festivals around the world. It explains how the log drum production technique gave the sound its unique flavour, as well as examining the roles fashion and dancing play in the lifestyle.
The 25-minute programme includes cameos from Major League DJz, Oskido, Felo Le Tee, DBN Gogo, Mr JazziQ and Soweto singer Daliwonga, plus BBC Radio 1Xtra's DJ Edu and Jeremiah Asiamah.
