  • UK environmental advocacy group Music Declares Emergency (MDE) is releasing the "world's first" plant-based, bioplastic vinyl. Featuring four tracks from Ninja Tune and Secretly-affiliated artists—Bicep, Porridge Radio, Angel Olsen and Black Country, New Road—the EP "will be the first publicly available example of a new, bioplastic vinyl alternative developed by Evolution Music as part of their mission to decarbonize the production of physical products in the music business," according to MDE's Crowdfunder page. MDE will be giving away 20 copies in a prize draw as part of their NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET campaign. Bicep contributed "Atlas" off their second album, Isles. Launched in July 2019 in the UK, MDE now spans three continents and is supported by more than 6,000 organizations, artists and individuals across the music industry.
