  • San Francisco dive bar and dance club Underground SF is reopening on July 27th. The Haight Street venue confirmed the news yesterday, July 14th, via Instagram. As well as "some well-deserved upgrades, the renovated venue will now include an electronic music-focused coffee bar, running daily from 7 AM through 4 PM. "After what seemed like a lifetime ago and after much work and dedication to a newly remodeled space, we're so proud to introduce you to the new Underground SF," they wrote. To celebrate, the team is throwing a reopening party on Wednesday, July 27th, with a lineup of local DJs, including Carrieondisco, Paul Goodyear and resident Sappho. Looking ahead to the first weekend back, the venue will host Infinite Jess and others on July 29th, followed by sets from Tyrel Williams, Jimmy B and suade on the 30th. This is the first time Underground SF will open since the beginning of the pandemic. Read the full Instagram post below.
Correction, July 25th: A previous version of this article misstated that the club was shut down for a health violation during the pandemic. It actually voluntarily closed in March 2020.
