São Paulo club collective TORMENTA is releasing the official soundtrack to its short horror film, O Som do Labirinto or The Labyrinth’s Sound.
The 14-track album, named after the movie, features ambient drone, metal and hard dance by various members of the TORMENTA crew. They include 177th, Alada, Fkoff1963 and Digestivo, among others. A digital and version of the score is due July 29th on Kampala-based Nyege Nyege Tapes.
The 28-minute film O Som do Labirinto, which initially premiered at Nyege Nyege's 2020 festival, is slated for public release that same day via streaming platform Vimeo on Demand. It will also be on a USB drive as part of a new zine called O Som do Labirinto, available on Nyege Nyege Tapes starting July 29th. Shot in a farmhouse on the outskirts of São Paulo over a ten-day period, the film tells the story of a journalist investigating a series of mysterious incidents.
TORMENTA, established in 2016, operates as a DIY party, creative agency and record label specialising in experimental dance music.
