Akai Pro's new MPC has a 61-key, semi-weighted keyboard with aftertouch.
A first for the brand, the new function promises better performance and control. The MPC Key 61, available now for $1899, is described as the world's first production synthesizer to incorproate modern vocal FX plugins, enabling users to record and mix vocals. Other features include 25 unique plugin instruments and more than 6000 presets.
Building on the usual MPC workstation, the MPC Key 61 also comes with the standard 16 velocity-sensitive pads, built-in sequencer, a seven-inch touch screen, touch strip, automation, note repeat and onboard WiFi.
