Drowned By Locals and audiovisual collective Mapping Possibilities are collaborating on a multi-day tour across Amman and Cairo.
Called MP-IX 2022, it will take place from June 4th through 16th. Themed around technology and fiction, the program consists of workshops and panel discussions on music production and visual design. There will also be audiovisual performances by Deena Abdelwahed, Berlin-based Yantan Ministry and Ma3azef resident rabbitcat.
MP-IX 2022 is the first event in two years for Amman-based Drowned By Locals. Established in 2020, the label focuses on experimental productions by artists around the region and beyond. Mapping Possibilities is a crew of visual and sound artists in Cairo that specialize in drone, glitch, IDM and noise, among other styles.
