Rosie Ama Cain's new label, Human Endeavour, is the latest Ransom Note Records sub-label.
Launching June 21st with a compilation EP, the label will be a "space for artists who are exploring the dark, deep and hypnotic corners of the musical spectrum," said Cain, who is one half of UK duo Kiara Scuro.
The first release, Trains of Thought, features contributions from Anatolian Weapons, Albino Sound, Nandele, Reda Saiarh, Double Helix and ANGST vor GRETA. Across six tracks, the EP touches on electronica, UK techno, New Beat, acid, post-punk, EBM and cold wave.
According to Cain, the label is entirely woman-led and will feature artists from all over the world. "I wanted a space to share music from those I've made connections with that I feel needs to be heard by more ears," she said. "I've never been one for sticking in one lane when it comes to musical tastes so Human Endeavour will mirror that approach. The name and logo tip the hat to my dad's memory, a man who knew a thing or two about creative endeavour."
To celebrate the label's launch, Cain is hosting a party at The Shacklewell Arms in East London with a live set from Double Helix and TBA guests.
