  • Berlin-based composer and sound artist Lucrecia Dalt is releasing a score for HBO's new comic horror series, The Baby. Out May 27th on Invada Records and RVNG Intl., the 28-track LP sees Dalt exploring what she calls "weird voices, bodily sounds and throat singing." A vinyl edition is expected later in the year. The first single, "Mareterna," is out now. "Alex Lázaro helped me create a rhythmic groove that we made from a merengue-like pattern beat," she said about the track. "I added rhythmic vocals processing my voice—the perfect spot to bring various of the sonic elements we have heard in the episode." The Baby, which HBO describes as a "surrealist study on motherhood," follows Dalt's debut score, The Seed, which arrived in March 2022 via Invada. Listen to "Mareterna," and watch a trailer for The Baby.
