  • An exhibition of graphic art from Valencia's once-thriving party scene is now showing at the Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno (IVAM). Running until June 12th, Ruta Gráfica. Designs For The Sound Of Valencia features 86 flyers and 130 posters from the '80s and '90s. IVAM's director, Nuria Enguita, said the works are symbolic of La Ruta, AKA La Ruta del Bakalao, the name given to Valencia's super-charged—and long-defunct—club scene. The exhibition includes the work of cartoonists such as Mariscal, Miguel Catalayud, Sento LLobel, Micharmut, Daniel Torre, Manel Gimeno and Ramón Marcos, as well as work by graphic artists like Paco Roca. Some of the legendary venues of the time include Barraca, Chocolate, Spook Factory and Espiral. To find out more, watch the promo video below or head to the IVAM website.
