Sónar completes conference programme, adds JASSS, Kamo Mphela

- Barcelona festival Sónar has finalised the programme for its conference arm, Sónar+D. Running for the duration of the main festival (June 16th through 19th), Sónar+D will include lectures, masterclasses, installations and virtual reality experiences. Each presentation will centre on the festival's guiding themes: "Ecology," "Web3" and "artificial intelligence." A new addition this year is Stage+D, dedicated to talks with audiovisual components and hybrid presentations that sit somewhere between discussion and performance. JASSS will close out this new stage each day with a performance of her recent album, A World Of Service, alongside visual artist Ben Kreukniet. In another first for 2022, Sónar+D will be open to all Sonar By Day ticket holders, meaning separate tickets won't be required for the conference. Recent additions to Sónar's music lineup include amapiano superstar Kamo Mphela and Amnesia Scanner's mind-bending audiovisual show. Resident Advisor are hosting the SónarLab stage for the fifth year running. The lineup includes Avalon Emerson, Conducta, Venus X and Midland, who will go back-to-back with Shanti Celeste at sunrise.
