  • BEAUTIFUL, the creative platform founded by SHERELLE in 2021, has partnered with Danish audio company AIAIAI on a series of free projects for Black and queer artists. In the works since last year, the collaboration will span workshops, lectures, an academy and sessions in a new studio. But first up is move/002, a week-long exhibition at Open House Hackney on the Black and queer rave experience over the last 40 years. Running from June 1st through 8th and produced with fynn studio, move/002 features photography by the likes of Bernice Mulenga, Craig Bernard, Dave Swindells and Guarionex Rodriguez Jnr, whose shots of New York festival dweller will be on show for the first time in London. "We live in a time where music organisations are sparse, our governments are more concerned about making themselves richer [...]," said SHERELLE. "There are a lot of people who have the ambition to be in the scene but just need that extra push and inspiration to do so. I never really had money but it was the music that kept me going [...] BEAUTIFUL x AIAIAI will be there to boost people and accelerate their existing talent." More information on the workshops, lectures, academy and free studio time will follow later in the year. Keep an eye on BEAUTIFUL's Instagram page.
