- Queer promoter crew Desertopia is throwing a four-day party in California next month. It's happening from May 27th through 29th at various venues around Palm Springs such as Infusion Beach Club, Asia SF and Chill Bar. Artists from queer scenes across the US are booked to play, including DJ Kerry, Perfect Lovers, Kevin Kauer (AKA Nark), Jason Kendig and Victor Rodriguez. Day and night pool parties are on the agenda, as is a 12-hour block party with Mykki Blanco, Vicki Powell, Dylan Reece and Mouthfeel, among others. Performances by a slew of Los Angeles drag queens are also expected. The gathering, described as "gay summer camp," marks the second edition of Desertopia following last November's weekend-long event. The crew, based in Palm Springs, consists of Victor Rodriguez, Por Detroit cofounder Perfect Lovers, Anthony John and Kevin Kauer.
