- Spirit Exit arrives July 8th.
Modular synth composer Caterina Barbieri has announced her next record.
Spirit Exit sees the artist experiment with sampling, string instruments and guitar across eight tracks. A digital and vinyl release is expected on July 8th via light-years, a label launched by the artist last year. Unlike previous releases that were created on tour, Spirit Exit was written and recorded entirely in Barbieri's home studio in Milan. It draws inspiration from female philosophers, mystics and poets such as St. Teresa D’Avila, Rosi Braidotti and Emily Dickinson.
Spirit Exit follows Ecstatic Computations, Barbieri's 2021 full-length, and marks the second release on light-years. Revisit RA's 2019 feature on the Milan-based artist for insight into her production style.
